Stay on target...

In the wise, overtly sexual dialogue of the X-Wings approaching the Death Star, that's exactly what I'm trying to do. And in my first week of my first NaNoWriMo, I have done exactly that!

Which is nice. Almost a fifth of the way through the final word target, a good foundation to start on. Anything I write at the weekend will be a little bonus, as I only have weekdays set up as my 'official' writing days for my targets in Scrivener.

On day one, the words came spilling out, it was hard to stop myself from spending the rest of the day writing, but I always find it's a good idea to stop while I'm hot, so that I can start the next session from a place of strength.

And I needed that, because days two and three were a bit of a slog. I managed to get to my targets okay, but it took a little longer and I had to do some detailed planning alongside. it's paid off because today (day four) has been much easier because of it.

So we'll see what happens when I move into the second and third acts which are still largely unplanned. No need to look that far ahead though, gotta work through act one first!

Oh yeah, and I'll try to do a Cookmanship next week if I can. But no promises.

Spargo out!
